President Trump acknowledged in March that he purposely downplayed the seriousness of Covid in February so not to panic the country.  This came out now, just before the election, in a book by Bob Woodward, a Democrat.  There could not have been any political reason that Woodward waited to tell this, could there?

Physicians were dropping out of Vermont's One Care due to finances.  The organization was paying the physicians $3.25 per patient per month they were dropping that to between $1.75 to $4.25 per patient per month depending on whether or not the organization saves money or not.  In other words they want less tests and less healthcare for the same or less price.  This makes the physicians, who have already seen a large drop in their practices due to Covid, at greater risk than previously.  Why would anyone do it?  This may be the death knell for all pay healthcare in the state to the chagrin of the state officials who back the concept.

A physician member of the staff at Physicians Premier went to the ER to get a Covid test.  He was hoping it would be free but he got a bill for $10,984.  This was paid by his insurance company in full.  The physician is actually in charge of the antibody tests at four other Physician Premier facilities and being paid $4000 for this part time gig.  He was not examined by the ED physician but did speak with him and his part of the bill was $2100.  The pathologist then resigned from the organization and called the charges outrageous and possibly fraudulent.  He also reported the outlandish charge to the insurer, a subdivision of United Health.  They are now under investigation for paying the claim and possible fraud.        Top
