The big news this fortnight is that the 10 meds that are to be reduced under the Inflation Reduction Act were introduced.  Of course the Democrats who initiated this without much foresight ballyhooed it for votes.  The drugs are led by Jardiace, Eliquis, Entresto, Enbrel, Farxiga and Insulin.  The price drop, if the courts allow, will take place in January, 2026.  It is said that the new prices were negotiated.  Nothing could be further from the truth.  If the pharmaceutical makers would not agree then the drug companies would have gotten a very lowball offer and this would be a final offer from fed med.  The Dems say that this is a $6 Billion cut in Medicare spending but that also is not true.  They do not take into consideration the deep discounts on the drugs already in place nor the transparency of the true figures such as 9 of ten drugs especially in cancer therapy never make it to the market.  Since the IRA has gone into effect there has also been a significant drop in new drugs being looked at for diseases as companies want to be paid and make a profit on the drugs they produce and make it or do not make it to the market.

I have not understood what California liberals are thinking or not thinking.  They want to and have passed a law awaiting the Govs signiture to give illegal aliens tax money to help purchase or rent homes.  They are not doing anything for legal aliens or citizens.
