The FDA has approved the use of plasma to treat Covid as an emergency use item.  

California's AG wants to be a czar.  He has asked his buds in the legislature to grant him the power to regulate not only not for profit hospitals but all hospital mergers.  He is a great friend of the hospital unions and wants this to garner favor for them.  However, the flip side is that hospitals use their combined power to purchase more physician practices and raise costs.            Top

The physicians at Beaumont Health were asked about their administration.  They voted in poll a resounding no confidence.  The Board then paused a proposed merger with Advocate Aurora.  In a separate poll 650 nurses agreed and voted no confidence in the administration.  This was out of 681 nurses polled.

In the "how dumb can you be" category a cardiothoracic surgeon Dr. Nathan Smith at Bristol Regional Medical Center in Tennessee was fired after he stupidly asked and allowed the CEO of the hospital not only to watch a surgery but to make the initial incision.  The CEO, Greg Neal, did it and after a complaint and investigation was fired.        Top
