The administration has said it will stop its underwriting for Covid shots and treatments.  This means the prices apid by consumers for these services will now be market and rise.

The California legislature has passed a bill that places spreadng misinformation related to Covid as unprofessional conduct.  This allows the medical board to prosecute these practitioners.  Now the question is "What is misinformation"?  The bill says it must be in the physician-patient arena and not on social media.  It also must be with malicious intent or intent to mislead.  So if one truly belies what they are saying there is no intent to mislead.  No one will lose their license with this.

HHS passed its final rule regarding the No Surprise Act.  It took away the language that would favor insurers and made it more neutral.  It still starts with the median payment by the insurer in that geographical location but the arbiter could also consider other factors such as the patient's acuity and the special training of the physician in the out of network situations.

The CDC has dropped its universal masking for healthcare workers.  They have put it back on the counties.  This has caused a lot of consternation among some physicians.  

Washington state has announced they are lifting the Covid state of emergency starting October 1.  Could the rest of the left coast follow suit?        Top
