CMS is taking it to the AHA. They are starting to allow physician owned hospitals to expand. They have now let three hospitals expand in the last month. The rationales are that the hospitals are not the only ones in the county, it does not discriminate against federal enrollees and it has more Medicaid admissions than the so called non-profits in the county. California has a new law allowing licensed midwives to see Medicaid patients. This allows the taxpayer funded services to be done cheaper, 80% cheaper than hospital births. Top
