Gee I wonder why? California hospitals did not comply with the idiotic law that requires implicit bias training for al perinatal care providers. Could it be because there are not enough trainers or that the hospitals have figured out the hour training will make no difference in someone's character.

Florida's Broward Health, a district hospital system, is putting $250 million into transitioning to Epic EHR. This is a sh.tful of money for a district hospital to spend or anyone for that matter. They presumably pay no taxes so deductibility can not be a reason. The only possible thing is that Epic will allow them to code at higher rates and they will recoup their money that way. It is amazing what people will do with other people's money.
Kaiser Permanente has reported $156 million in operating income for the 3rd quarter. This is on $24/9 Billion in revenue. This is a 0.6 margin. They also increased by 29.000 members.
To no one's surprise MLK Hospital needs more money or will have to cut back services and possibly close. The safety net hospital in Los Angeles is overseen by the county board of stupes. They mismanage all they touch and forced the predecessor hospital to close and they are doing the same thing now.
Kaiser Permanente has declined inb the Medicare Advantage ratings. This has cost them losing bonus payments in 4 of 7 programs. Top
NYU Langone Health has suspended two practitioners for their comments regarding the Israel-Hamas war. Dr. Zaki Masoud, a resident physician, posted that the Hams attack was liberation and revolution. Dr. Benjamin Neel was suspended as director of the Cancer Center reposted ant-Palestinian messages. I am a freedom of speech person and believe both these should be reinstated.
The LA physicians and dentists employed by Los Angeles county belong to the Union of American Physicians and Surgeons. They are considering a strike since two years of negotiations have yielded not resolutions to their concerns. They are not happy with the vacancy rates in their employed ranks. Top
