MD Anderson was found to have put patients in immediate jeopardy.  CMS investigated the institution after a death found more deficiencies, some very severe.  

Kaiser has announced two major incidents.  The first is the death of their leader Bernard Tyson at a young age.  The cause of death is not yet known.  This is a major loss.  The second is that it continued to gain market share and money under his leadership.  It reported 5.3% more operating revenue.  Their net income rose to over $1.2 Billion in the third quarter.

The proposed merger between Sanford and UnityPoint Health is now off.  UnityPoint did not want to become a national power hospital chain.

Again the operating rooms in Seattle's Children's Hospital are closed and for the same reason as before, mold.  So far at least one patient has been infected by the fungus Aspergillus.          Top
