The administration used the wartime powers of the Defense Act to help rebuild the Baxter factory that was taken out of service by a recent hurricane.  The factory was the main one producing IV fluids for the company.  What this did was to push the factory to the front of the line for a contractor.  In the meantime the FDA has given Baxter permission to import IV fluids from its other plants around the world.  

The administration proposed a new rule to require insurers to cover OTC contraceptives at no cost and without prescription.  The political move was made for the usual reasons to garner votes.  There is no such thing as no cost meds or anything else.  Someone has to pay and in this case it would be the taxpayers.  

California's governor has vetoed a bill that would have required the state AG to approve all healthcare transactions invoolving private equity groups and hedge funds.  The Gov said he would rather have the Office of Health Care Affordabilty to do the work as they were already doing most of it.  

The administration will allow illegal immigrants known as Dreamers to sign up for Obamacare medical care.  However, the rule is now going through the courts after being challenged by 18 states.          Top

Michigan has put Dr. Ali Abood, a resident, on probation.  He was dumb enough to write a doctor's note for an acquaintance with no doctor patient relationship.  

Arkansas has suspended the license of Dr. David Diffine of Jonesboro for having sex with a patient.          Top
