Dr. Rajeev Manu, a gastroenterologist of Bakersfield, California, has been placed on five years probation by the medical board. He administered a course of treatment to the wrong patient in a hospital which led to the death of the patient. He ordered a PEG tube and a feeding tube on a patient with severe Covid pneumonia instead of the patient in the next bed also with Covid but was going to be transferred to a nursing home. His sin was making or signing false documents, creating false records and failure to maintain accurate medical records. How much of the blame should be shared with the hospital? I think a lot. Top
