The junior physicians in Great Britain went on strike.  This caused almost 200,000 missed appointments, tests and procedures.  This will happen again since the government either can not or will not negotiate in good faith for the necessary raises.  The beauty of national health.  If we had national health there would be strikes every year and the populace would rebel.

In a related note the amount of physicians taking Medicare and/or Medicaid has dropped.  Five years ago it was 71%.  It is now 65%.  When I was in practice I was the only urologist that would accept Medicaid and I quit after they said we would have to take a 10% cut on the very low amount they were paying.  When one took a Medicare/Medicaid patient that meant you would only get the Medicare payment as Medicaid never paid anything on the remainder.

The AHA finally is criticizing their hospitals for being reactionary and not proactive in their cybersecurity processes.  This invites fines by the fed and class action law suits.          Top
