In an article regarding the potential legal landmines post Dobbs it discusses a potential exception that might be used in states that ban abortion except to save the life of the mother. Instead of worrying about how sick the mother is just use EMTALA which requires stabilization. There are also potential landmines in the care of miscarriages, fatal fetal defects, or who to report. Aiding and abetting is another potential problem versuss counseling or making a referral. Basically this will all play out over the next year or so after laws become clear. Dr. Lisa Gwynn, was removed from the board of the Florida Healthy Kids Corporation due to her advocating for Covid vaccines on pediatric patients. She is also the president of the Florida chapter of the American Academy of Pediatrics. Over 1000 physicians in Ohio have mobilized and joined together to work for getting abortion on the ballot in the state to overturn the legislation that bans abortion after the fetal heartbeat. In a major act of stupidity which is not unusual for this organization PeaceHealth in Springfield, Oregon, has found they have multiple problems due to lack of nurses. The reason they have a lack of nurse is cutting the pay of traveling nurses which in turn allowed them to leave for greener pastures. Ever since the Supreme Court Dobbs ruling there has been a significant uptick in requested vasectomies. This include California where abortion will still be legal. The media is putting out false information that contraception (vasectomy) will also not be legal and that is causing the push. The American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology (ABOG) is threatening to strike physicians off their board status if they tell patients misinformation regarding abortion. Fair enough but what is misinformation? Is telling a patient the potential complications misinformation? A pro-life organization is already threatening to sue ACOG if they strike any pro life physicians.
