The NHS junior physicians walked out and over 86,000 appointments were cancelled.  Next week there will be a six day walk out, the longest ever.  This should bring GB to a halt.  The NHS is strapped for cash as most socialist areas are and can not come close to meeting the demands.  This means the NHS will go out of business or they will need to raise funds from parliament.        Top

The merger and buyout from Tenet of the San Ramón Hospital (California) by John Muir Medical Center (California) has been called off after the FTC filed suit to block the sale.

JAMA has published an article showing that complications increased after non profit hospitals were purchased for private equity organizations.  

The AMGA has found that physicians in system-affiliated groups have now a loss per physician.  The revenues are less and the expenses are more, a deadly combination.          Top

Yet one more of the Internal Medicine groups is pulling out of the dreaded American Board of Internal Medicine.  This is the third to do so after the Cardiologists and Nephrologists.  Let us hope that the rest of the subspecialists do the same.        Top
