Kaiser has been fined again by California for their lack of transparency.  This time it iw the Walnut Creek hospital hit for four different violations.  They failed to enforce safety work practices for their employees by not doing Covid testing on people coming to the facility.  They did not provide respiratory protection for their employees.  They failed to investigate exposure incidents and they failed to train teir employees on preventing Covid as an airborne disease.  This cost $87,500.        Top

Dr. Jared Wolfert, DO practicing at Washington's Kadlec Regional Medical Center, was charged with unprofessional conduct.  It is alleged that a 58 year old man came to ED by ambulance for back pain severe sweating and near loss of conscious.  He was examined and was found to have had several similar episodes in the past week.  He was sent home with anti-inflammatory drugs and died two days later.  The discipline is for not doing any cardiac tests on the patient while in the ED.         Top

The administration started its war on the Corona virus.  It ordered 1100 troops to various federal vaccination sites around the country.  These are mostly medical personnel.  There will be, according to the administration, 100 new vaccination sites in 30 days.  Presently there are 175 federal vaccination sites in the country.  The administration is doing what the prior administration already did and is calling it new.  They are making se of the Korean War era Defense Production Act to get Pfizer more material to make its vaccine.  The Trump administration used that Act 18 times for vaccine production.  The administration also said it was using the Act to build plants for rubber and neoprene gloves to decrease our dependence on foreign suppliers.  They are also purchasing 8.5 million rapid tests from a foreign company.        Top
