Sometimes one wonders what planet people live on.  United Healthcare says that hospitals are not breaking up with Medicare Advantage.  They are albeit slowly and in stages starting with the HMO plans.  

Big Pharma is raising prices on over 7000 meds is the bad news.  The good news is that the price increase is less than anticipated.  The meds that dropped in price are the insulins.

Over 21 million signed up for Ocare.  The administration is touting this as wonderful.  This means that many people are out of work or need assistance and is not a sign of a good economy.

Hospitals

Palomar Health in Escondido, California, was faced with nurse retention and hiring problems.  Their solution was to pay a $100,000 signing bonus and an equal amount for retention over three years.  They solved their problems and do not traveling nurses anymore.

Physicians

Saltzer Health of Nampa, Idaho, is looking to go out of business.  The IPA that is part of Intermountain has financial problems and needs a savior.
