CMS has issued the final rule regarding hospitals being required to publicly disclose standard charges including negotiated prices for items and some services like lab tests and outpatient visits. They have 0ne year to comply or until reversed by the courts. This will be interesting to watch as it also requires group health plans including self insure plans and health insurance issuers to disclose price and cost sharing information to consumers. This would not apply to grandfathered health plans -those that existed prior to the Obama care fiasco. Top
Dr. Phillip Gear or Phoenix gave up his license in lieu of legal proceedings. He is the longtime physician of the incapacitated female who was raped and gave birth in a care facility. He was being investigated not for the rape and its outcome but for not doing the administrative things that are required such as monthly exams and annual mental assessment. He also had physical limitations and failed to supervise four students. Top
