CMS announced that is going to pay for the CAR-T therapy at 65% of cost.  WOW!!  This should make the hospitals that do the lifesaving treatment happy.  They will only lose at least 33% and most likely much more on each treatment.

There is a law on the books but not enforced as yet that will require physicians to consult clinical guidelines prior to ordering MRI, CT scans and other expensive diagnostic imaging tests.  CMS says next year will be a test year prior to the implementation in 2022 or 2023.  If a provider does many more scans than necessary they will be required to get pre-authorization.          Top
